Our ethical awareness means that we’ll help reduce any environmental impact of your big day. Through diligent and careful planning, we will:

Partial planning is perfect if you've already kicked off your wedding planning, but would like advice and assistance with choosing ethical, environmentally responsible businesses or want to ‘sense check’ some of the decisions you’ve made.

Cost

The price for partial wedding planning is £750, although this is flexible based on the number of

suppliers you would like us to manage; when you contact us, we’ll discuss your needs and the pricing in more details.

How it works

In any wedding, there are always more tasks than you have the time to do. Simply select up to three specific wedding planning tasks that you’d like help with, then tell us how much you’d like to pay for us to manage each service.

Don’t worry, eco-weddings aren’t all about whole-grains, hippies, heathland and health food. We’re not expecting ladies to have to wade through mud in their stilettos or for gentlemen to subsist entirely on lentils and vegetables.

Eco-weddings are about balancing style, elegance and beauty with care, consideration and respect for the world and the people around us.

This is going to be the most important day of your life so far; we’ll help you celebrate it while

minimising the impact of doing so. It means you have a clear conscience in knowing that your big day hasn’t cost the earth.

More than a trend, it's a lifestyle.

The average traditional wedding can generate up to 15 tons of carbon dioxide emissions from the transportation of guests and products, energy consumed at the venue and the like.

Our suggestions to make your Big Day greener include:

Location: a central venue that’s close to your guests

Flowers: locally sourced and in-season

Catering: local, in-season and ideally organic

Bridal clothing: eco-couture, pre-loved dress, or a designer dress donated to a charity after the wedding day

Favours: ideally sourced from the Fairtrade industry or made to support local and independent businesses

Stationery: recycled paper, seeded paper or even paperless (online and social networks)

Are you insured?Absolutely. This is a must in the event planning industry. How much experience do you have planning events and weddings?I’ve built my event planning career on experience from eight years in corporate communications, which included project management, corporate event planning and running a dedicated event planning team. La Vie Est Un Voyage mainly operates in the East Midlands, namely Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, which helps our clients benefit from the savoir-faire and expertise of local, independent green suppliers. We can prepare an itinerary with areas of interest and activities for your guests to enjoy at their leisure. Eco-friendly weddings / Eco-honeymoons What does a typical eco-friendly wedding look like?Just as each wedding is unique, so too are eco-friendly weddings. Being eco-friendly involves thinking ahead and planning in a sustainable way. At first glance, a traditional wedding and the same wedding but with an eco-friendly twist, might look identical. However, when you look closer you can see the important differences:Were the food miles attached to the menus?Was the food in season and locally produced? How was the wedding dress made?Which type of fabric was used?Was the labour force behind the making of the dress fairly paid?What happens to the flowers once the wedding is over?We’re all starting to think much more about these important details. You might want to contribute to local communities, either financially or by taking part in community projects (for example introducing children to English for a couple of hours during your stay, finding out about local customs or helping with environmental projects like protecting a coral reef). It’s your eco-honeymoon and your choice; one thing that’s certain is that you and your beloved will have a compelling story to tell on your return. Your weddingI'm getting married in 12 months; how far in advance do you need to be involved?The sooner, the better; without careful planning and budgeting, the to-do list tends to grow significantly the closer we get to your Big Day, and this can easily have a substantial impact on your wedding budget.The best time to start planning is as soon as you’re starting to think about your wedding and have a date or time period in mind. For full planning, it’s best to involve us around 10 to 12 months ahead of your wedding date.I want my no-fuss wedding planned in five months. Can you help?Yes. In this case, planning would concentrate on understanding what is most important to you.
